From the day they bought the house, our clients hated the master bath and knew they’ll have to do a major remodel. To quote them: “We searched for years to find a designer with the imagination to transform our awkward, dated master bathroom into a private retreat”. In collaboration with the clients, Savena Doychinov, CKD, designed a new master bath that gave them exactly that and so much more.
To achieve this transformation, major plumbing fixtures were relocated as needed. New plumbing wall ensures that the hot and cold water lines for the new vanities and soaking tub will not freeze and the custom mirror niches add architectural distinction to the space. Almost 200 miters were meticulously executed on the limestone tiles at all outside corners of niches and door openings, as well as the curved tub platform for a seamless appearance.
Closer look at what our clients were unhappy with: tiny shower, unused whirlpool tub, ugly glass block window, basic ceramic tiles, poor lighting, insufficient storage, acres of boring drywall, etc. – in short: totally unattractive space.
Accentuating the high ceiling and ensuring the privacy requested by our clients, a dramatic circle window now crowns the new focal wall. Deep soaking tub = hours of relaxation. The custom all drawer vanities organize storage efficiently and make it easily accessible. Elegant wall sconces, recessed ceiling fixtures and lighted makeup mirror make getting ready for the day or a night out a pleasure.

View from the tub. The tall tower centered on this wall accentuates the high ceiling, its large niches offer docking stations, display art, family photos, books and personalize the space. Special low iron acid-etched glass used in the steam shower and toilet compartment enclosures softens the space, provides degree of privacy.
To quote from our clients’ review again: “The results are extraordinary and timeless”. This project also just won a Silver Award in the 2016 Master Design Awards competition.
